BASIC AWARENESS OF SANSKRIT GRAMMAR
Maaheswarasutram, sabdarupa, dhaturupa,nirukta,amarakosa.
MODULE 3 10 MARKS
REGIONAL LANGUAGES KNOWN
Reading and writing skill in the regional languages like Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi. Sentence making, application of prefix and suffix, meaning changes, common usages among these regional languages.
MODULE 4 10 MARKS
ANCIENT INDIAN SCRIPTS KNOWN
A general awareness of ancient lndian scripts and manuscriptology, scripts known to read and write like Brahmi, Nandi, Nagari, Vattezhuthu, Grandha and Kolezhthu.
MODULE 5 10 MARKS
VEDIC LITERATURE
History of Vedic literature, Samhita, Brahmana, Aranyaka, Upanishads, and a general awareness on Vedangas.
MODULE 6 10 MARKS
CLASSICAL LITERATURE
Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas, origin and development of mahakavyas, drama and dramatic literature, prose literature, and contribution of Kerala to Sanskrit and Malayalam literature.
MODULE 7 10 MARKS
SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL LITERATURE
Ayurveda, Arthasastra, Vastusastra, Musicology, Natyasastra, lndian astronomy.
MODULE 8 10 MARKS
ENVIRONMENTAL AND GEOGRAPHICAL AWARENESS THROUGH LITERATURE
Environmental awareness through Sanskrit literature, geographical and geological aspects presented in Sanskrit literature, environmental thoughts delineated in Vedic and puranic literature, nature and aesthetic vision of Kalidasa and other poets.
MODULE 9 10 MARKS
CLASSICAL ART FORMS AND FINE ARTS
Origin and development of the Classical art forms of lndia, the relevance of Natyasastra, Sanskrit theatre Koodiyattom, lndian sculpture and iconography.
MODULE 10 10 MARKS
TRANSLATION PRAXIS
Sanskrit to Malayalam, Malayalam to Tamil, Malayalam to Kannada.
