Syllabus for the Post of Technical Assistant (X-ray) in Government Ayurveda College

Section A Radiodiagnosis (50 Marks)

Module 1 (10 Marks)

General physics, Radiation physics with relevance to diagnostic radiology

Module 2 (10 Marks)

Anatomy, physiology, pathology with relevance to diagnostic radiology

Module 3 (10 Marks)

Radiography including dark room techniques

Module 4 (10 Marks)

Radiation protection and advanced aspects in diagnostic radiology

Module 5 (10 Marks)

Miscellaneous topics not covered in the above modules but of PRACTICAL importance including ethics, mandatory regulatory bodies guidelines, interpersonal & patient relationships, errors in radiology , reporting etc.

SECTION B -Radiotherapy (Total 50 Marks)

Module 6 (10 Marks)

Radiation/Medical physics relevant to the Radiotherapy including practical aspects

Module 7 (10 Marks)

Anatomy / Pathology relevant to the subject of Radiotherapy (including TNM staging, staging work up), cancer epidemiology, cancer registry

Module 8 (10 Marks)

Principles of radiotherapy, various radiotherapy techniques, principles of teletherapy and brachytherapy, radioisotopes

Module 9 (10 Marks)

Management of cancers of various sites, simulation radiation treatment planning, patient set up, treatment verification and treatment execution, radiation induced acute and late toxicities

Module 10 (10 Marks)

Advanced radiotherapy techniques, gaps in radiation treatment, ethical issues, patient counselling, interpersonal and patient relationships, Radiation protection relevant to Radiotherapy

NOTE: – It may be noted that apart from the topics detailed above, questions from other topics prescribed for the educational qualification of the post may also appear in the question paper. There is no undertaking that all the topics above may be covered in the question paper.
