DETAILED SYLLABUS FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN RACHANASAREERA IN AYURVEDA MEDICAL EDUCATION

MODULE – 1 (10 marks)

1. GARBHA SHAARIRA (EMBRYOLOGY)
Definition of garbha, explanation of sukra, aartava, garbhadhana, Role of tridosha and panhamahabhuta in the foetal development
Description of Beeja, beejabhaga and beejabhagavayava, Ritumati lakshana, sadyo garbha lakshana, linga vinichaya Garbhotpadaka bhava, garbhavridhikara bhava, masanumasika garbha vridhi krama Garbha poshana, apara nirmana, nabhinadi, angapratyanga utpati
Definition of embryo, foetus, features of sperm and ovum, fertilization, cleavage, sex determination and differentiation, germ layers formation and their derivatives, foetal circulation, placenta and umbilical cord formation, laws of heredity

MODULE – 2 (10 marks)

1. MARMA SHAARIRA
Definition of marma, number, location, classification, vidhalakshana Trimarma according to Charaka, knowledge of marmabhighata Detailed study of individual marma with their clinical and surgical importance
2. KALA SHAARIRA
Definition, formation, description of seven Kala with their modern component

MODULE – 3 (15marks)

1. ASTHI SHAARIRA
Number and types of asthi, general introduction and classification of bone Detail study of each bone with applied anatomy
2. SANDHI SHAARIRA
Etymological derivation, number, types of sandhi Definition, classification, general structure of joints Detailed description of joints of extremities, vertebral joints, temporomandibular joint with applied anatomy Knowledge of other joints
3. PESHEE SHAARIRA
Number and types ,Types and structure of muscles, description of muscles, their origin, insertion, nerve supply, action and applied anatomy

MODULE – 4 (10 marks)

1. SIRA, DHAMANI SHAARIRA
Etymological derivation, definitions, number and types of sira and dhamani, description of hridaya
2. CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM
Description of heart and blood vessels with their course and branches, applied anatomy Pericardium with applied aspect
3. LYMPHATIC SYSTEM
Lymphatic vessels, lymph glands and spleen with their applied anatomy
4. SROTAS SHAARIRA
Definition, number and types of srotas and srotomoola

MODULE – 5 (5 marks)

1. RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
Lungs with applied anatomy,Respiratory tract – nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchial tree Pleura with its applied aspect

1. DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
Organs of digestive trat with their applied anatomy ,Peritoneum with applied anatomy
2. DIGESTIVE GLANDS

3. ENDORINE SYSTEM
Definition, classification and description of endocrine glands (pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, thymus and suprarenal glands) with clinical aspects

1. URINARY SYSTEM
Urinary trat: kidney, ureter, urinary bladder and urethra with their clinical aspects
2. MALE REPRODUTIVE SYSTEM
Reproductive organs, tract and glands with their clinical aspects
3. FEMALE REPRODUTIVE SYSTEM
Reproductive organs, tract and glands with their clinical aspects

MODULE -8 (20 marks)

1. NERVOUS SYSTEM
Definition, classification, description of brain and spinal cord, Description of cranial and spinal nerves, nerve plexuses, autonomic nervous system, Description of meninges, formation and circulation of CSF, Blood supply of brain and spinal cord
2. SENSORY ORGANS
Description of structures of eye, ear, nose, tongue and skin with their clinical aspects

MODULE – 9 (5 marks)

1. SHARIROPKRAMANIYA SHAARIRA
Definition of sharira and shaarira, shadangatwam, anga pratyanga vibhaga, mrita sharira samsodhana, preservation methods of cadaver
